NOTES : Thomas changed his name on his enlistment forms as his registered birth name was Francis Thomas Burns. His brothers who also served in the First World War were John James Burns 20912 and William Henry Burns 719 who was Killed In Action. Thomas was sent to the Kyoomba Sanatorium for treatment. He became a Soldier Settler and his Brother-In-Law Joseph Rudezky 156 also spent time at the Kyoomba Sanatorium.
